Some changes to HDR Analytics
Hi there,
I just wanted to briefly note that HDR Analytics is going to function as a Substack from now on. For anyone who visits the site, this really won’t change anything for the user experience, and all old articles have been migrated over already.
If you aren’t familiar with Substack, you can learn more about it here. It’s essentially a platform that makes publishing content much easier, and I no longer need to manually code EVERY page of the site. Which is a big help, and means I can hopefully write more content at a more frequent rate. Substack automatically organizes everything in a clean way, and it takes a lot of the extra work that was required before off my plate. For some context, even after I had already written an article, just posting that article on the old site took around half an hour alone. Now, it’s instant.
But articles are one thing. What about forecasts and other projects? Those are a bit more tricky to migrate. Substack is solely text-based, and while I’m able to get most of the charts and graphics over easily, some visual elements will be lost, so the presidential forecast (re-launching August 5th!) will look a little less colorful.
Finally, Substack allows for subscriptions and priced plans. As of now, I’m planning on nearly all articles being free for anyone to read, and the top line numbers (the main odds) of forecasts staying fully public too. All methodology will remain fully accessible for transparency reasons. However, I may put some of the more detailed sections of forecasts behind a paywall at some point, and potentially a paid article every now and then. If I do so, it will be like $1/month at the start. That may increase in the distant future, but pricing will lock once you sign up, so it will never change if you already had a plan. I hope you enjoy the new look of the site, which is still located at HDRanalytics.com
